Welcome to our Local’s home on the internet. OPSEU Local 277 is an active, member-driven local that works hard to be a force for good in the lives of the workers we represent, and in the lives of the community we serve. I am honoured to have served as your President for the past four years and I look forward to the opportunities and challenges that the coming years will bring.
Recently, our local ran a psychological first aid course in cooperation with Tema Trust and the Region of Peel. It is my hope that those trained will help make Peel Paramedic Services a safer place to work. We have also supported Cheri Denovo’s PTSD bill, by collecting hundreds of signatures to be presented to the Ontario Legislature.
Our Municipal Political Action Team supported 13 candidates in the last election and I am happy to say that 10 of our endorsed candidates won. Engaging citizens, politicians and our members is key to defending the world class care Peel Paramedics deliver to the people we serve and our local will continue to deliver our message to all stakeholders.
